Denver Broncos head coach Sean Payton apologizes for derogatory comments, calls it a ‘mistake’

Sean Payton, the Denver Broncos' head coach, called his criticism of the team's previous management a "mistake" and issued an apology for it.

On Thursday, Payton told USA Today that his ancestors had done "one of the most horrendously terrible training position throughout the entire existence of the NFL."

However, Payton stated the following to reporters on Friday during training camp: I had one of those minutes where I actually had my FOX cap on, and not my training cap on.

Payton added he would apologize to New York Planes lead trainer Robert Saleh and hostile organizer and previous Horses lead trainer Hackett at "the ideal opportunity.

"I consider Robert (Saleh) to be the greatest. I know him. Nathaniel (Hackett) is unknown to me. However, just in time. Tune in, it surely will get more interest the game when we play them, however that seems like a very long time from now. But I'll handle it right," he declared.

In week 5, the Jets and Broncos are scheduled to play in Denver.
